Big Sandy and Fremont districts are not included because neither district has schools within the boundaries of El Paso or Teller county.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How do I show all schools by district/county/grade levels/type?

A. Choose the option from the menu at the top of the page. The options are show by: "county," "district," "district offices," "school level," "type of school," and "list all schools." County and district will display all schools in the chosen county or district, district offices will display all the district administration buildings, school level displays by elementary, middle, high or combined, and type of school displays by oversight/function (traditional school board, charter, alternative or private). Please be aware that several of the options (El Paso county, all elementary schools) will take a little while to load, as there is a lot of information that has to be fetched.

Q. How do I zoom in closer so all the markers don't overlap?

A. Double-click on a blank spot where you want to zoom in, or hover your mouse over the spot where you want to zoom in and use the scrollwheel on your mouse to move in and out.

Q. How do I reset the map and start over?

A. Click on the reset link in the upper right hand corner of the window or refresh/close and restart your browser.

Q. How do I see information on just one specific school?

A. Click on "list all schools" and choose the school from the list.

Q. How do I see information about a school after I've asked for all schools in a district?

A. Click on the marker on the map and the school information will show up on the right hand side of the screen.

Q. Why aren't the school markers showing up?

A. Please be aware that several of the options (El Paso county, all elementary schools) will take a little while to load, as there is a lot of information that has to be fetched. If waiting a little while longer doesn't make the markers appear, refresh the browser or use the reset link in the upper right hand corner.

Q. Why isn't a school listed?

A. We might have missed it. Especially private schools, as there is no comprehensive list of all private schools operating in the state. Please send all updates, corrections and additions to Annie Mullin.

Q. What else will you be adding to this directory in the future?

A. CSAP scores by school and district, related programs (IB, magnet schools, immersion, etc.), events calendars and much more.
