Staff
Lynnette Ryden, Newspaper In Education Manager, has directed Classroom
Connection for the past 10 years.
Tiffany Paisley has coordinated other NIE programs at Idaho newspapers
and recently joined The Gazette as Newspaper In Education Coordinator
in July 2006.
The staff selects and promotes educational offerings, distributes
related newspaper curriculum to teachers, schedules consistent newspaper
delivery to schools, gives school tours of The Gazette, provides
on-site educational presentations at schools and activity centers,
conducts Teacher Workshops, secures funding and networks with other
NIE professionals in Colorado and nationwide. An essential part
of the newspaper outreach is securing the financial support for
over 1.6 million newspapers to the schools. Sponsorships from businesses
and vacationing subscribers pay for the cost of each newspaper for
schools while The Gazette funds the rest!
Classroom Connection is in partnership with the Pikes Peak Community
Foundation for tax-deductible donations for newspaper education.
